Eileen Gray (1878- 976), Irish artist specialising in varnish, furniture designer and architect. She was one of the first women to be admitted to the Slade School of Arts where she studied painting. She worked closely with Le Corbusier and, as early on as 1925, imagined functional and lightweight furniture in chrome, steel tube and glass. A great number of them like the Day-bed went on to become classics and her wonderfully proportioned « E1027 adjustable table » was a true «flagship» in the world of design.
